The Lew Electric PUFP-CT-BK-20A-2USB is a power outlet and USB charging pop up box designed to be hidden in your kitchen countertop, or any location that might encounter water. When in the closed position the top sits just above the counter, creating a sleek and attractive look in your kitchen. When you need access to power and charging, simply press the button and the outlet flips up so you can plug in. The top is all black, perfect for matching dark countertops, black tones in countertops, black appliances, and black hardware of fixtures. The cover is just the right amount of white, not too bright that it stands out, and not too cream colored that it looks yellow. The metal top is powder coated black making it scratch resistant, it is extremely durable and can withstand the rigors of daily use and cleaning.
Meets NEC Electrical Code 406.5E for Installation in Countertops
The pop up was specifically designed to meet code for kitchen and wet location installations, it meets 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) 406.5E for countertop use in the USA and Canada. The outlet is tamper proof and is UL listed, the pop up as a complete unit is ETL listed for USA installations, and cETL and CSA approved for Canada installations. The pop up features an IP44 water rating, and is splash rated for wet location installations, there is also a gasket under the bezel to keep water from entering from the sides between the countertop and the base of the pop up.
Easy to Install Hardwired Application with a Shallow Depth
The pop up only needs 2.25” of space under a 3cm countertop, and requires a 4 1/16” x 4 1/16” hole to be cut to install. Included is a metal back box that attaches to the underside of your countertop with glue for stone, or screws for wood. The outlet does not have a power cord, simply hardwire your power into the outlet by first running it through the knockouts in the rear of the back box. The outlet needs to be wired to a GFCI circuit (typically done at the panel with a GFCI breaker), or tapped off of a GFCI outlet. Then if the outlet recognizes an unsafe interruption in the current, it will automatically shut off power to the outlet.
Tamper Proof Power and USB Charging Outlet
There are two 20 Amp plugs and two USB charging ports. The USB ports are rated for 3.6 Amps of shared power. There is a smart chip inside the outlet making the USB intelligent charging ports. They will automatically adapt to the device being plugged in, and send the maximum amount of power that the device can handle, ensuring that your device won't be over-charged. The plugs are tamper resistant (TR) so you meet code, and give you the peace of mind knowing that little lids can't put any small objects in the outlet and electrocute themselves. The outlet has passed UL's 12oz spill test rating.
Eliminate Dangerous Cords Hanging Over Your Island
A pop up outlet centrally located in your counter adds convenience to provide power and charging where you need it most. You no longer have to plug into the side of your island, and run the cord over the counter and hope it reaches to the middle of your island. Not having draping cords hanging over the side of the counter removes a huge risk factor. It can be easy for children to catch the cord with their arm, creating a tripping hazard, or cause whatever appliance is on the counter to fall on them. Pop up outlets provide a functional, yet beautiful look in your countertop.
Convenient Power and Charging Where You Need It
The Lew Electric PUFP-CT-BK-20A-2USB meets code for kitchen countertop installations, but can also be used in any other potentially wet location that requires recessed power such as pantries, airports, restaurants, bars, and hotels. Use the pop up to power small appliances such as coffee makers, blenders, toaster ovens, and warming trays. It can also be used for charging mobile devices such as tablets and phones via the two USB charging ports. The pop up can be installed in granite, quartz, wood, laminate, concrete, or any surface up to 2" thick that you can cut the required 4 1/16” x 4 1/16” hole.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
I watched one of your youtube install videos of this outlet. While watching the video, I noticed that the guy pushed the button and held it, closed the outlet, then released the push button. Do you have to do this extra step every time you want to close the outlet? Vs just pushing the outlet down?
You do have to push the button and close the top of the outlet at the same time. The reason for this is for the safety of the cord and outlet when it is open, it keeps the outlet in a locked postion. If it wasn't locked and you pushed on the top of the outlet, it would pinch the cord. It could damage the cord and potentially the outlet.
